Paul & Tamara Lopes
Location: Negril, Jamaica
Our story begins in 2006, when we met and immediately developed a friendship. After a couple of years partying together, we thought that maybe we should share something other than a bottle of Gray Goose! So, we started going to the movies and dinner together, as friends, sharing our thoughts and ideas. I guess spending so much time together brought us closer and one day, we started looking at each other as more than just friends. Our relationship began on January 3, 2008. It quickly became serious and we both knew that one day we would get married. We became engaged on November 8, 2009 and immediately began planning our wedding. We both knew we wanted to marry on the beach so we decided Negril, Jamaica would be the perfect place. On February 26, 2011 we were united in a civil ceremony amongst our families and closest friends. We officially became Mr. and Mrs. Lopes that day and are excited to share our love with you all in Jamaica at our symbolic ceremony!
Our wedding will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011 at 4 o'clock in the afternoon at the Riu Tropical Palace Resort in Negril, Jamaica. This will be a casual event, so dress comfortably. A summer dress and flip flops is fine for women. Women, you probably don't want to wear heels. They sink into the sand!!!! But for the few of you who must wear heels, just take them off and go barefoot to the ceremony! Men, you can wear docker like pants and a casual button up shirt. You probably want to leave your favorite sneakers in your room; if the sand is wet, it may stain them. Some sandals will be just fine. We just have one request. Please, no jeans! You will be too hot in them anyway!!!!

Also, as far as gifts are concerned, we are not expecting anyone to purchase a gift for us. Your presence in Jamaica will be enough. But, if you still feel inclined, we have a few restrictions on gifts, as it will be difficult to get some gifts through customs. We have set up a gift registry on this website. It allows you to contribute to our honeymoon! If you do not feel comfortable doing so, we will accept cash and gift cards only PLEASE!!!
The reception will immediately follow the ceremony also at the Riu Tropical Palace Resort. No need to change for the reception; this will also be a casual event. We will eat, drink and dance the night away!!!
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART!!! PAY ATTENTION!!!!

1. EVERYONE will need a US Passport, including children. You can get information on how to obtain one here: http://travel.state.gov/passport/passport_1738.html

2. Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica is the closest airport. Most resorts provide a shuttle to and from the airport for a small fee. PLEASE do not accept rides from anyone other than your resort shuttle!!!!

3. The Riu Tropical Palace is an all inclusive resort. This basically means, all of your meals, drinks (including most alcohol beverages), and snacks are included in your package. There are several activities on the premises, so unless you really want to, there is no need to venture off of the property. This information and much more can be found at:

http://www.riu.com/en-us/Paises/jamaica/negril/hotel-riu-tropical-bay/index.jsp#seccion

4. There will be a group rate available for those who stay at the Riu Tropical Palace. You can book by contacting my aunt who is a licensed travel agent. She can get you the group rate and find the lowest rates for airfare. Also, when you book your travel through her, you do not have to pay your balance in full. Monthly payments will be accepted to alleviate the financial burden.
